The Consumerist has an interesting article up about lesbian gamer ‘Teresa’ who says she was harassed because she identified as a lesbian in her bio info on the Xbox Live service. She goes on to explain that MS actually “sided with the homophobes” and suspended her Live account.
This sort of thing irritates beyond belief, because Sony and Microsoft (and one would assume also Nintendo) have nothing in place to deal with hatred and bigotry online. There approach is to ban the gay gamer in an effort to shut them up. This sort of approach is archaic in its appraisal and dealings with the situation.
I’m so irate at this right now I need to go and play some Team Fortress, maybe bag a few fags and teabag them and their dyke counterparts in good ole boy MS style.
